This free standing spacious 6 person house is situated in one of the most picturesque parts of the Dordogne, the Périgord Noir, an area famous for its large number of castles. Particularly noteworthy in this region are the many forests, outstanding landscape with brilliant views.

LES MICHELLES is on the outskirts of a small village (with a fantastic bakery!). Ten minutes distant lies Hautefort, famous for its imposing chateau and its beautiful surrounding gardens. Here you will find all you need - supermarket, petrol station, bank with ATM, our doctor and chemist and a couple of charming and reasonably priced restaurants where you can savour the specialties of the Dordogne: confit de canard, foie gras, black truffles, cepes and naturally a choice of wines from Bordeaux, Bergerac and Cahors.

Périgueux, the Dordogne capital with its charming old city centre, the restored cathedral and Wednesday market is within close proximity.
Other noteworthy sights in the region include the prehistoric caves of Tourtoirac, Les Eyzies or Lascaux, the magnificent medieval centre of Sarlat and the famous Gardens of d'Eyrignac.

Entering the covered patio you find the cozy lounge with couch and roomy dining area. There is a TV with satelite connection, dvd and stereo. There is a large bookshelf in the lounge filled with books and games for your use. The well appointed kitchen includes a large fridge, 4 ring gas cook top, dishwasher and microwave oven. The attached laundry contains a washing machine and freezer.

There are 3 bedrooms, one with a double bed (1.40m x 2.00m), the other 2 rooms have 2 single beds each (0.90m x 2.00m). There are single bed covers on all the beds.
All bedrooms have sufficient storage space. There is a cot and baby chair available, but you must bring your own bedding for this. The ample bathroom has a walk in shower, washbasin and toilet. There is also a separate toilet.

Free WiFi access is available.

From the covered terrace where you can relax for a sunny breakfast or dinner in the shade around a large table, there are views to the pool (10m x 5 m) below. The terrace surrounding the pool has deckchairs and parasols. The pool is protected by an electronic safety alarm. There is also a barbecue. At the side of the house you'll find a shady carport for your car.

If you desire an activities filled holiday there are many opportunities available in the area: walking, cycling, horse riding, tennis, canoeing on the Dordogne and Vezere rivers and golf. Badminton and jeu-de-boules can be enjoyed in the garden.
