In the best part of the Dordogne, Périgord Noir, you discover in a brilliant landscape surrounded by forests and meadows, Résidence Du Fornial.
From the residence there is an imposing uninterrupted view to the Hautefort Castle, worth a visit for its beautiful gardens.

Résidence Du Fornial is a short distance from the rustic Hautefort village. There you will find all you need: a large supermarket with petrol station, a bakery, bank with ATM facilities, our doctor and chemist, and some cosy restaurants where you can sample the specialities of the Dordogne such as confit de canard, foie gras, black truffles, cèpes and of course the outstanding wines of Bergerac, Cahors and Bordeaux. There is a local market on Wednesday mornings.

This small holiday park has 3 comfortable free standing cottages:
LE BROCARD (4 person), LE VANNIER (5 person) and LE PAVOT (5 person) are peacefully located on 8000 m2 of land and are reached via their own laneway. There is a separate parking area.

In the middle of the garden area there is a illuminated pool (10m x 5m) surrounded by a terrace with deck chairs and parasols. There is a safety alarm connected to the pool.

Children can be entertained by the open spaces and a playing area with swings and a slippery slide, while you watch from the covered terrace with its picnic table and barbecue. If you wish for some active fitness there is a safe trampoline or you can enjoy badminton, table tennis, volleyball, football or jeu-de-boule.

The make up of LE PAVOT: The lounge has a seating area with a TV, DVD player and a radio/CD player. A dining area with a connecting open style kitchen is equipped with a 4 ring gas cooker, a fridge with freezer compartment, a dishwasher and a microwave griller.

There is free WiFi access.

There are 3 bedrooms with a double bed (1.60m x 2.00m), 2 singles and one single respectively (0.90m x 2.00m). Because we consider a good nights sleep important, there are comfortable mattresses and single bed covers.
In the bathroom there is a spacious walk in shower, washbasin and washing machine.
There is a separate toilet. A cot and high chair is available upon request.

As well the house is well insulated with double glazing and heating so that you can enjoy the comforts and sights of this region out of season.

Outside high season (July and August) arrival and departure days are flexible as well as weekend and mid week rentals (prices upon request).

All linen is included in the rental except for pool towels and cot linen.

Pets are not permitted.

Due to its location in the Périgord Noir, LE PAVOT is the perfect place to discover the Dordogne region. It is not far from the important sights that this region is rich in, such as: the prehistoric caves (Tourtoirac, Les Eyzies, Lascaux), the many castles (eg Hautefort, Les Milandes, Beynac, Castelnaud) and picturesque places such as the middle ages villages of Sarlat and Montignac, as well as Périgeux, capital of the Dordogne.

There are also many opportunities for an active holiday in the area: as our property backs onto a huge forest, there is an opportunity (also for the children) to participate in adventurous walks in the forest or walks around Etang-du-Coucou (a 7 hectare lake on the other side of the Castle), bicycle tours over great tracks with outstanding views (a geared sports bike is necessary),  canoeing, horse riding and golf (2 X 18 hole courses and 1 X 9 hole). In the direct vicinity of Hautefort mountain bike lovers will find 12 trails with varying levels of difficulty.

Upon arrival after your long journey we ensure that your bed is made and a welcome drink is waiting so that you can immediately begin to enjoy your carefree holiday. As you sit on the terrace at sunset watching the lit up castle in the distance, don't be surprised to find a deer wander through the fields from the forest.
